Do we not have this concept that for things to be good and worthy of our time they have to be functional or useful? Although, that has not always been a bad thing, it’s not always the best way to observe art work. But, why? If we have a strong pre-conceptual idea of what it is or what it should be, especially if we have a hard time figuring out what the devil is it, we might end up not looking at the work in its own right, for what it is in front of us.
